DRI apprehends man along with 3 Kgs of heroin | KNO

Kupwara, August 02 (KNO) : Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in its maiden raid has apprehend a man along with three kilograms of Heroin worth lakhs of rupees in north Kashmir’s Kupwara on way to Srinagar on Friday afternoon. Official sources told KNO that, a raid was conducted by DRI and Kupwara Police during which a person who had boarded a vehicle from Tangdhar to Kupwara was on way to Srinagar was intercepted in Kupwara and three kilograms of Heroin worth lakhs of rupees was recovered from his possession. The raid was conducted after DRI received credible inputs regarding the transport of huge consignments of Narcotics from Karnah sector to summer capital Srinagar city, but with timely intervention the person carrying the package was held, sources said. "DRI has to carry out few more raids within Karnah sector only after proper conclusion more details related the catch will be shared,” they added.(KNO)
